Why was my payment declined?

If you receive a payment declined email notification, it could be for a few reasons.

1. Amount was too high

The amount being charged to your credit card may be higher than what the limit is for your card that you have on file. You may need to check with your credit card company on that.

2. Bank account not verified yet

If you just recently added a bank account, it usually takes 1 or 2 days for them to generate micro-deposits into your account in order for you to verify ownership of the bank account.

If the email notification shows Status: new next to the bank account information, this would be the issue.

3. Insufficient Funds

If the payment failed notification includes Decline code: insufficient_funds in it, that means there are insufficient funds in the account you have linked to your payment method.
